The holidays are fully upon us, and that means that it's time to give back--by donating food, money or warm clothes, or simply by standing up for communities that are usually overlooked. Earlier this week, Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill stopped by a women's group home in Meek's hometown of Philadelphia.

Nicki posted a photo on her Instagram account which shows the couple with staff from the Dare 2 Dream organization; in an effusively positive caption, the rapper pointed out that she can't show many of the young girls' faces due to outstanding legal concerns. See that photo and the accompanying message below:

A judge recently found Meek in violation of his probation, a decision that could cost the rapper an astronomical sum of money, not to mention his freedom. Yet even when viewed through a cynical lens, spending time with dispossessed, at-risk segments of the population is an admirable cause.

That is, until the Internet gets a hand on the information. Shortly after Nicki posted the photo, fans saw that she had blurred out a spot on the image which includes Meek's shoes. As GQ pointed out, the fervor over this boiled down to four dominant theories: either he was wearing an unreleased shoe, not yet available to the public; he was wearing Jordans, which would violate his exclusive contract with Puma; more specifically, he was wearing Drake's OVO Jordan 10s; or Nicki was simply drumming up controversy out of thin air.

When one of the Dare 2 Dream organizers posted an unaltered photo to her account, it became clear that Meek was wearing 11s--Puma won't be happy, but at least it's not more fodder for the owl hive.
