Meek Mill Claims He Failed His Drug Test Because of Protein Shakes

Meek Mill was in court earlier this week for a probation violation and failed a court ordered drug test. According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Meek took a urine test and handed the lab technician a cup of cold water instead of a urine sample. The rapper reportedly told the technician that the urine looked that way because he had consumed a lot of water during the day and that the protein shakes he has been drinking made his sample come out that way.

Nicki Minaj testified in court on her man's behalf and allegedly said that Meek was telling the truth about the suspicious urine sample. She also reportedly said that if she knew the protein shakes would make Meek's urine look like water, she would not have let him drink them and insisted that he did not fake the drug test.

Meek has been on probation since 2009 for a drug and gun charge. The rapper served five months in prison last year and was released in Dec. of 2014. He is facing potential jail time for violating probation after he allegedly left the city of Philadelphia without an appropriate travel voucher. TMZ speculates that Meek's probation violation could be due to his appearance at the American Music Awards in Los Angeles on Nov. 22. The hearing was adjourned yesterday (Dec. 10) and will continue next Thursday, Dec. 17.
