Kanye West and Kim Kardashian Will Donate 1,000 Pairs of Shoes to Charity

Known shoe enthusiasts Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are planning to step up their charitable contributions. With newborn baby boy Saint to take care of, Kim Kardashian West has a little more time to catch up on her late night television. Late into the morning of Dec. 10, she tweeted that she was up breast-feeding, watching Dish Nation, when she saw 17-year-old Kansas teen Amelia Flores. Flores was attempting to accumulate 1,000 pairs of shoes for the Soles4Souls, the charity that aided her and her family following 2005's Hurricane Katrina, and Kim felt compelled to contribute. "Kanye and I would love to donate those 1000 shoes Souls For Souls," she wrote.

Kim had some trouble locating Flores online and enlisted the help of her 37 million Twitter followers. According to Dish Nation, Flores had reached her goal but has extended the number to 2,000 before Dec. 18. With 1,000 pairs coming by way of KimYe that figure should be easily attainable.

Shoe news has steadily followed Kanye in recent months as the masses continue to clammer for his Yeezy Boost. The shoe was even named Shoe of the Year at the 2015 Footwear News Achievement Awards. As Kanye continues to tease new colorways, the hype for the Yeezy 750 Boost is repeatedly reignited. It was of course Kim Kardashian herself who revealed the collection. There's no word yet if any of the 1,000 pairs the couple plan to donate will be Yeezy's, but one would guess that no one's got quite the stock as the plug himself.
