Young Thug Metro Boomin Tweet

And like that, it's done. The lifespan of a 21st century beef, born, bred and carried away entirely on the social sphere.

While Young Thug continued to sling the mud last night, calling for a mass cursing of Metro Boomin, the one time collaborator turned internet nemesis, Metro tweeted not 7 hours later with an apparent resolution to the squabble. "Never ever would I trade on my niggas." And from there, Thugger reciprocated, saying that he loved the producer for life.

It is also interesting to note that some folks thought the beef between the two collaborators was fake. Thug and Metro were FaceTiming each other live on periscope last night (Nov. 12). During the periscope session,Young Thug announced that he's dropping joint albums with Fetty Wap and Post Malone. Watch it here.

What this 72 hour scrap amounts to is a tricky cocktail of misunderstanding and hard headed ego. Thug took some comments the wrong way and puffed out his chest and Metro responded in true. The threats and continued back and forth seem nothing more than a product of modern day misinterpretation, the rap version of this Key & Peele skit.

With the hatchet now buried, the two can get back to what they do best: making music, specifically together. If conflict resolution breeds deeper understanding, than this relationship should only produce more and better music. We can tweet and toast to that.
