Pharrell is serving as a judge on the ninth season of NBC's The Voice and the show had its top 11 performers compete last night (Nov. 23) during the episode. But the contestants weren't the only ones to hit the stage as Pharrell got up from the chair to perform his powerful single "Freedom" for a national audience.

Pharrell belted out the "Freedom" hook at the top of his lungs in an impassioned way. He offered up a subtle delivery of the verses, which still hold as much weight with the listener. "Hold on to me/Don’t let me go/Who cares what they see?/Who cares what they know?/Your first name is Free/Last name is Dom," Pharrell sang.

Pharrell was a showman in his performance with a large lineup of dancers joining him. Pharrell's dancers and backup singers were all wearing green shirts with blue skirts and white gloves. Their choreographed performance matched up with Pharrell's uplifting anthem that premiered earlier this year on the launch day of Beats 1 Radio.
