When it comes time to answer complicated questions about the intersection of sports and politics, one needs to look no further than Lil B. The famously prolific Berkeley native stopped by the set of NFL Now to speak about a variety of topics, but before football was even broached, the panel had to grill him about his ongoing beef with Houston Rockets guard James Harden--and the recent firing of Houston's coach, Kevin McHale. (The feud between B and Harden can be traced back to the latter failing to give B credit for the cooking dance he was using to celebrate made shots, and to his denial, later found to be dishonest, of ever listening to the rapper.)

The panel noted that B's Twitter account is followed by "everybody across all spectrums," including famous athletes, entertainers and even the Vermont Senator and Democratic Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders. Yet they were flummoxed when his message of positivity extended to his sports fandom. Though he conceded that he grew up passionate about his hometown Oakland Raiders, he listed the San Francisco 49ers, the Dallas Cowboys, the Indianapolis Colts, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and a handful of other franchises among his favorite teams. B explained that he wants to make sure everyone works hard, stays healthy and fulfills their goals on and off the gridiron, and that he finds it particularly hard to cheer against the 49ers, seeing as San Francisco is home to say many of his friends and relatives.
