Vince Staples Is Going on Tour

Vince Staples is not in danger of falling out of the headlines. The Long Beach native dropped one of the year's best rap albums in his ambitious double-disc debut, Summertime '06, which came complete with production from No I.D. and a dead-eyed realism. More recently, he's been caught in the middle of a bizarre feud between '90s rap revivalists and their younger peers when comments he made in an interview were exaggerated and taken out of context. But in the near future, fans will be able to see up close just what drew observers to Vince in the first place: his music. Today (Nov. 18) the XXL Freshman announces his two-part Circa '06 Tour. The first run of dates kicks off in just a couple of weeks, and runs right up until the holidays. After that, there's a break that lasts just over two months, before Vince hits another string of dates up the West coast and back down through the midwest.
