Mobb Deep made it well known that there ain't no such thing as half way crooks, but Prodigy is making a case for half way deals. According to TMZ, one of the Queensbridge duo is suing Universal over withheld royalty checks. Prodigy claims that when Mobb Deep signed with Universal, then BMG, back in 1995, the deal covered all future releases by the duo but not their solo endeavors. As a result, Prodigy says that Universal has been continuing to take their agreed upon 50% from all of his work even those tracks written and released without Havoc. The lawsuit measures the owed royalty earnings at about $57,489.

All's been quiet on the music front for Prodigy and Mobb Deep since the release of May's EP Survival of the Fittest 2. Perhaps Prodigy is holding off on any future releases until his paperwork with Universal is sorted out.
