Back in June, "Black In America" rapper MC Supreme was killed in a car crash after a pickup truck crashed into his parked vehicle on the shoulder of California's Pacific Coast Highway. The 46-year-old, whose real name was Dewayne Coleman, was hit by Philip Torres II who was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and DUI. Supreme's daughter, Yahdiya Coleman, has filed a lawsuit against the city, the state of California and Torres. According to TMZ, the lawsuit states that the city of Malibu should be held responsible since this section of the Pacific Coast Highway is particularly dangerous, yet there are no warning signs, lights or guardrails in the area.

After the crash, Coleman’s sister, Irene Coleman, told City News Service that her brother “was a positive person, dedicated to working with young people” to keep kids from getting involved in gangs. She also told the outlet that Mike Tyson walked out to her brother’s song “Black In America” before hitting the ring for a fight in the ’90s.

Supreme was also featured on the We’re All in the Same Gang compilation. The song’s standout track, “We’re All in the Same Gang,” was produced by Dr. Dre and featured Ice-T, Tone Loc, MC Ren, Eazy-E, Digital Underground, MC Hammer and more.
