It's been some time since the mixtape Weezy glory days. As Tha Carter V continues to accumulate dust, Wayne has treated fans to free releases like Sorry 4 The Wait 2 and Free Weezy Album with very little of the reverence that his previous tapes earned. In a Tiger Woodsian turn, the question surrounding Wayne was no longer had he fallen from grace, but if he was capable of returning.

Meanwhile, Wayne, for all that's been said, has steadily tried to recapture the magic, with news trickling out early this week that he plans to release a follow up to 2009's No Ceilings. After rapping a few bars of an unreleased remix to Drake and Future's "Where Ya At" on Friday night, Wayne comes through with the solid confirmation via Twitter that the project is indeed forthcoming. "Let's do it...Thxgiving...lets eat!" he wrote to accompany the mixtape's artwork.

The original No Ceilings was heralded for Weezy's frenetic run-ons and punchlines, turning songs like Gucci Mane's "Wasted" or Dorrough's "Ice Cream Paint Job" into live wire explosives. It was less the beats chosen or the words said as much as the energy that possessed the tape and turned it instantly memorable.

Beyond "Where Ya At," No Ceilings 2 may also feature a "Back 2 Back" remix. Wayne was filmed in studio jumping on the Drake track, though it's not yet certain whether he, like Canadian label mate, would use it to throw jabs. Wayne wouldn't have to think too hard for a target; with the ongoing tension with Birdman over the release of Carter V yet to reach a resolution. A $51 million lawsuit was filed against Cash Money records at the top of the year.
