Lil B Says the Houston Rockets Fired Their Coach Because of His Curse

Earlier today (Nov. 18), the Houston Rockets fired their head coach, Kevin McHale, just 11 games into their NBA season. The Rockets, at 4-7, are failing to live up to their city's lofty expectations--expectations which, for the past few years, have weighed heavy on the shoulders of their star shooting guard, James Harden. But when Houston was ousted in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals last year, there may have been more than basketball at play. Harden had been celebrating shots with the cooking dance that Berkeley native Lil B popularized; when B called him out for failing to pay homage, Harden claimed to have never heard of the rapper. B then placed on Harden the dreaded Based God Curse--in the decisive fifth game against the Golden State Warriors, Harden finished with 14 points and 12 turnovers. It seems that the renewed curse for the 2015-16 season is working, and that McHale was just caught in the cross fire.

B's NBA beefs are not limited to Harden, McHale and the Rockets. Last year, he responded to Oklahoma City star Kevin Durant's dismissal of his music with the seminal "Fuck KD." McHale, a Minnesota native, was an all-Big Ten power forward with the Golden Gophers before the Boston Celtics took him third overall in the 1980 draft. He would go on to win three championships in his 13 seasons--all with the Celtics--and average 17.9 points and 7.3 rebounds. Lil B is still reported to be working on his forthcoming mixtape, Thugged Out, Pissed Off.
