J. Cole is a man of the people. The Dreamville rapper recently took some time out of his busy schedule to visit a fan in his hometown Fayetteville, N.C., who is battling cancer. Cole visited the North Carolina Cancer Hospital and sat with Tae Stackhouse. The meeting was made possible after Stackhouse's mother and aunt reached out to the N.C. MC in hopes of getting the rapper to make the visit. Cole obliged, and came out to give the young man some words of encouragement. Stackhouse praised the rapper for spending time with him in a Facebook post typing, “I really appreciate this just wanna give a big s/o to my mom and my aunt for bringing my favorite rapper to see me I’m proud to say that I’m blessed even tho I have cancer he told me to keep positive so that’s what Ima do thanks j.cole #RoleModel.”

Cole is clearly a fan of a fan. Over the summer, he re-routed his Dollar and a Dream tour to attend the graduation ceremony of fan Cierra Bosarge. In 2013, he promised Bosarge he would attend her graduation after she sent him a moving letter, and kept his word. He also bought some books for the woman and promised to pay part of her tuition.

In 2014, he showed up to a fan's house in Dallas and surprised her with a personal listening session of his then unreleased 2014 Forest Hills Drive LP.
