Erykah Badu hosted the 2015 Soul Train Awards last night (Nov. 29), and took the opportunity to roast oft-derided rapper Iggy Azalea.

In a bit that riffs on Badu's recent mixtape, entirely centered around cell phone usage and culture, the evening's host fielded calls from rappers on a cell phone on stage during a segment of her opening monologue. "They have banned me from all hip-hop awards" Badu said before announcing that the night would be without any rap performance or focus, this year's awards were to honor soul exclusively. Badu pretended to speak to her ex Andre 3000 and current favorite rapper Young Thug, telling them they couldn't attend the ceremony, then fielded a call from Iggy.

"No no no, you can come, 'cause what you're doing is definitely not rap," Badu said to a shocked audience. Azalea has been criticized in the past for adopting an accent when she raps and appropriating the art form. Things have been quiet for the "Fancy" rapper as she preps her sophomore release, the follow-up to 2014's The New Classic.
