7 Rappers That Have Held Positions at Record Labels

Yesterday, (Nov. 9) news broke that Kanye West appointed Pusha T as President of G.O.O.D. Music, causing the Virginia rapper to trend on the internet for the entire day. The news came at random via Billboard with Pusha telling the outlet that at first he was unsure if he wanted to take on the notable position and waited four months to accept.

"I was flying home and I had just got into my car at the airport. ‘Ye had called me and he was like, ‘Tell me something. What do you think about being the president of G.O.O.D. Music?’ said Pusha. “And I was like, ‘Well, what are the things that you’re looking for?’ And he was basically just like, to manicure the label, make it profitable and be very business-oriented about it going forward in a manicured type of way.”

Only time will tell if Pusha T will live up to the hype, but it seems most are in favor of the transition. It's still unclear how the change will reflect on Kanye's dealings at the label.
