Kid Cudi is known for many things, but not restraint. The outspoken Cleveland rapper took to Twitter today (Oct. 6) to prime fans for his upcoming album, and he didn't mince words, warning that certain followers shouldn't even worry about listening if their expectations are too rigid. The subject is the nascent Man on the Moon 3, which would complete the trilogy Cudi began on his acclaimed 2009 debut, Man on the Moon: The End of the Day. To hear the rapper tell it, those who expect the third installment to fall in line will be sorely disappointed.

Listeners have been clamoring for the project for some time--a curious case study in how quickly an artist's fan base can splinter off with those who expect him or her to be a legacy act. But the next release will be Speedin' Bullet To Heavenwhich Cudi recently revealed will be a double LP. The "Day N Nite" star has also dropped interesting hits about that record, including the fact that it be free of guest features and completely devoid of synthesized sounds. Cudi was a XXL Freshman in 2009, after becoming notable with a string of mixtapes and his creative contributions to Kanye West's 808s & Heartbreak.
