The difference between rap fans today and their counterparts from 20 years ago is that a 24-hour news cycles has led to constant speculation about and thirst for an artist's new music. The difference between Kid Cudi and his peers from any era is that he readily acknowledges this, and engages in an ongoing dialogue with his supporters about what they can expect, and when. Recently, he warned fans that his nascent Man on the Moon 3 wouldn't play to their expectations, and that they might want to steer clear, depending on what kind of output they're looking for from the Cleveland rapper. Today (Oct. 27), Cudi took to Twitter to announce a concrete date for yet another album, the double-disc Speeding Bullet to Heaven.

“There are no synths or electronic sounds on the album," Cudi said earlier this year about Speeding Bullet. "It consists of guitar and bass played by myself.” The "Day N Nite" star also said that this is the "most emotional" he's been while making an album since the beginning of his career, and that the LP will be completely devoid of features. The album, Cudi's sixth, is preceded by a handful of singles: "Confused," the instrumental "JFKPSA," "Wedding Tux" and "Judgmental Cunt." Back in 2009, he was featured on the famous XXL Freshman cover that also included Blu, Wale, Charles Hamilton, Asher Roth, Curren$y and more. His debut album, Man on the Moon: The End of the Day, was certified Gold that year.
