George W. Bush doesn't care about Kanye's presidential bid. In footage captured by TMZ, the former commander-in-chief is asked about Kanye West's tentative plans to run for president in 2020.

"Mr. President, your thoughts on Kanye West running for president one day?" a paparazzi asked. "Huh?" Bush responded before straight-up laughing. That's right, George W. Bush, whom Kanye once infamously said, on live television, doesn't care about black people, thinks the Chicago rapper's political ambitions are a joke.

In reality, the laugh-off is the exact sort of thing that would would motivate Kanye to take his bid more seriously. In recent years, Kanye has spoken at length about the obstacles he's faced breaking into the fashion world, with many of the highest ranking gatekeepers unable to separate his artistic vision with his usually brash public persona. Or, unable to get past the fact that he rose to prominence as a rapper.

Recently though, Kanye introduced his first collection, Yeezy Season 1, through adidas, so perhaps high profile doubt is the accelerant the Yeezus ticket needs.

Last month marked the 10 year anniversary of Kanye's live outburst. Years afterward, Bush would call the moment one of the most disgusting of his presidency. Kanye first announced his intention to run, which may have been spontaneous, at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards while receiving the Video Vanguard Award.
