As the maxim goes, rap is a young man's game. Even the cagiest of veterans have to stay vigilant to avoid becoming legacy acts, or worse--a novelty. But there's also a degree of muscles memory at play, and when you get the right creative minds together in a room, momentum just takes over. With that in mind, it appears that D12 is set to drop a new mixtape at the end of the month. Depending on which social media reports you believe, the new effort is called Devil's Night 2, The Devil's Night Mixtape or some combination thereof. A Reddit user cites an in-studio picture of group comedian Bizarre and a Facebook post about a music video shoot as evidence of a new project. More importantly, D12's Swifty took to Instagram to post what's presumably the cover art, complete with a release date: October 30, the so-called Devil's Night.

The new mixtape's name refers to the title of the group's 2001 debut album, Devil's Night. At the time, Eminem was fresh off of his diamond-selling sophomore effort, The Marshall Mathers LP, and was finally ready to introduce the six-piece group to rap's mainstream. Though the album's critical reception was tepid at best, it spawned a series of minor hits and has been roundly praised for its vivid, cartoonish violence and humor and for Eminem's own performances. The group released a follow-up, D12 World, in 2004, two years before Proof, the group's de facto leader, was killed in a Detroit night club shooting.
