After a lackluster show in Newcastle, Australia that left people confused and booing, Childish Gambino is trying to make things right with fans who were in attendance. According to reports, CG and his camp have been reaching out to concertgoers via e-mail and inviting them to his upcoming show at the Look Out Festival in Sydney, Australia.

As previously reported, there seemed to be some sort of break in communication between promoters and attendees at the Oct. 1 show at the Newcastle Hotel, which led to fans getting peeved. According to reports, the event was promoted as “Childish Gambino & Royalty,” leading fans to believe he was the focal point of the show. But when the performance started Glover mostly played the sideline while Royalty played the majority of the show making fans upset. According to EW, a source close to the situation claims the show was billed as a DJ set and fans were aware that Gam would not be the lead act. However, the rapper/actor's team isn't taking the idea of upsetting fans lightly. “Regardless of whose error in communication that was, Gambino’s team takes it very seriously when fans are disappointed,” the source says.

The Look Out Festival starts today (Oct. 3) at Centennial Park. Along with Gambino, other acts hitting the stage include, Joey Bada$$, iLoveMakonnen and Rae Sremuurd.

Glover is co-starring in the new film The Martian which hit theaters yesterday.
