What those people fail to realize, however is that the stakes keep rising in one specific corner of the industry: that of the musical guests. From Odd Future's seminal Fallon performance to The Roots taunting Michele Bachmann with "Lying Ass Bitch," house bands and end-of-show bookends have become central to TV comedy's continued reign. So when British singer Rita Ora took her Chris Brown collaboration "Body On Me" to Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night (Sept. 8), she made sure to bring the A-game.

Sequestering yourself with a would-be lover is never a bad move when you're playing to a captive audience, and the close quarters work to the pair's benefit. From the song's sultry video to now, it's proven to be a ready-made number for the end of any club night. Brown continues his streak of unquestioned ubiquity with what looks like a jacket borrowed from the set of a Freaks & Geeks reunion.
