United Kingdom Labour Party leader candidate Liz Kendall's campaign video was spoofed using Eminem's "Stan" and has helped boost her campaign. Kendall, who is hoping to become the Labour Party's candidate for Prime Minster in 2020, penned an open letter and shared a campaign video to Labour Party supporters in August asking for them to vote for her. The original video, which features Kendall sitting at her desk writing the letter to her fans, has been blended with "Stan" in a parody video and now instead of Kendall doing a voiceover reading of her letter, the video features the opening verse from Em's hit song that topped the UK charts 15 years ago.

YouTube user Jack Dean uploaded the spoof film and it started making its rounds in the British tabloids. According to The Telegraph, Kendall "is a fan of hardcore rap music and counts Public Enemy among her favorites." The video has helped boost what has been described by as UK political correspondents as a "dull" campaign. Whether or not it will help Kendall win remains to be seen; the vote for Labour Party leadership takes place on Sept. 10 and  she is running against three other candidates. Early projections do not have Kendall winning. The Leadership Party has never had a female leader and a woman has never held the role of Prime Minister in the United Kingdom.
