Wax Figure Nicki Minaj

This isn't what rappers usually mean when they talk about putting something on wax, but Nicki Minaj will take it. Earlier this summer, the famed Madame Tussauds wax museum in Las Vegas has featured the wildly successful rapper's likeness, in a pose inspired by her "Anaconda" video. The figure has drawn some backlash--including comments from fellow New York MC Azealia Banks--and even more eager onlookers. But soon after it went up, the figure suffered a rash of lewd passersby, many of whom took pictures near wax Minaj in suggestive and disrespectful fashions. The MC praised her fans for trying to protect her image; the museum added additional security to try to curb some of the more egregious offenses. Now, with rumors swirling that the figure might be removed from the floor altogether, the museum has made its stance clear: Nicki isn't going anywhere.

In a statement to Billboard, Tussauds spokesperson Cole Kouvaris says, "Nicki Minaj’s wax figure has not been removed from Madame Tussauds Las Vegas." He adds: "The set has merely been adjusted." Minaj has been enjoying a run of good press, coming out favorably in minor spats with Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus. The former was resolved amicably, and Nicki and Taylor performed together at the MTV Video Music Awards--on the same stage where Nicki would later taunt the former Disney star Cyrus. Over Labor Day weekend, the "Truffle Butter" star was a surprise guest during her boyfriend, Meek Mill's set at the Made In America festival in his hometown of Philadelphia.
