Republic presidential candidate Ben Carson is a Kanye West fan. In a recent interview on ABC's This Week, the neurosurgeon expressed his regard for 'Ye, telling ABC that he's "extremely impressed" by the "Fade" rapper.

"I did have an opportunity to talk with him," Carson told ABC. "I was extremely impressed with his business acumen. He knows a lot about business. I talked to him about the possibility of maybe himself and some of the other people in pop culture doing some music that might be uplifting that might young women a sense of their value and young men a sense of responsibility. I think it could be a tremendous thing in our society." Carson was referencing a recent Kanye interview, where the latter expressed his own fascination with the presidential hopeful.

Kanye asserted his desire to run for Commander in Chief in the 2020 election at the 2015 VMA Awards. He reignited his presidential bid at the recent iHeartRadio Music Festival. Since then, he's garnered support from Ice CubeChelsea ClintonDonald Trump and now Ben Carson. "Well, I am certainly willing to give him a chance," Carson told ABC. "He’ll be able to explain things and see if he resonates with the people."

According to Carson's business manager Armstrong Williams, who recently spoke with The Guardian, Ben and Kanye spoke on the phone for a lengthy 45 minute call and Carson was "very grateful that Kanye believes in him." Apparently, 'Ye showed off his rhyming skills while on the line. "It was a fun conversation," said Williams. He went on to add that Kanye's "lyrics were all clean" and that Carson hopes to speak with West again to see if they can work together on the Carson's 2016 presidential campaign. Perhaps this is the start of Kanye West's political transition.
