No matter how successful Chris Brown's creative work manages to be, it seems as if his checkered past with the law is going to continue to haunt him. According to Billboard, an Australian government official is pressuring the country's immigration minister to deny Brown a visa for his scheduled four-stop tour through the country in December. Speaking at the launch event for an initiative to curb domestic violence, the newly-appointed minister for women, Michaelia Cash, said, "People need to understand if you are going to commit domestic violence and then you want to travel around the world, there are going to be countries that say to you: `You cannot come in because you are not of the character we expect in Australia.'" Cash added: "This is a government that is not afraid to say: `no.'"

Brown's One Hell of a Nite tour is currently scheduled to hit Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, in that order, beginning Dec. 9 and ending Dec. 16. According to reports it seems as if most of the fervor about Brown's arrival stems from his 2009 conviction for assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna. However, he's also served time in prison for assaulting a stranger, and about a week ago, it was revealed that he was under investigation after a woman claimed she was physically thrown off Brown's tour bus following a music video shoot in Colorado. That same day, reports surfaced that indicated he may be barred from entering New Zealand, as well. Brown's latest self-directed video, "Liquor/Zero," is out now. The news of his possible ban from Australia comes in the wake of Tyler, The Creator nixing his swing down under after extensive efforts to block his entry.
