Straight Outta Compton is a certified hit! Raking in $56.1 million over its debut weekend, the story of Compton rap clique N.W.A has taken the box office by storm. With Straight Outta Compton dominating headlines, the film will likely go down as one of the most successful rap biopics in history.
Though it was marketed for about a year, the Ice Cube and F. Gary Gray helmed biopic was actually nearly four years in the making. And one of the most important parts of this film was getting the right actors to portray the hip-hop revolutionaries.
