Post Malone Signs to Republic Records
Post Malone signs with Republic Records. The Dallas native garnered attention on the hip-hop scene earlier this year when he dropped "White Iverson." Prior to the track's release, the young MC was virtually unknown in the rap community. He only had about 400 Twitter followers at the time and one other track on his now cleared Soundcloud page.
During his first radio interview with DJ Skee, Malone explained that he never expected the track to blow up the way it did. At the time of his interview, the track surpassed 2 million views on his Soudcloud page. Since "White Iverson" hit the web, Post has dropped a number of follow up songs, including "Tear$" with 1st, "Too Young", and more recently, "What's Up," once again featuring 1st. The young rapper/singer also just provided visual treatment for his breakout track, which has been rereleased globally under Republic Records. At the moment, he's working on his debut album with Republic. The label's Executive Vice President, Charlie Walk, posted the photo above with him and the 18-year-old upstart, captioned, "I finally get to post this pic from LA. Post Malone joining Reublic Records!"
