ESPN had tapped Nas to be the voice of their newest promo for this year's U.S. Open, one of tennis' most prestigious events. Mr. Jones is featured in the new ad titled "We Play" which has been airing on the network for the past few days. In the clip, Nas narrates reading a poem about the upcoming event and the fervor it instills among rabid tennis lovers. The music for the commercial is "Piano Jam" by Kygo. The matches kick off on Monday (August 31) in Flushing, NY and continue until September 13.

Nas' raspy tone has helped him get commercial work for a while, especially recently. Back in 1997, he appeared along with AZ in a commercial for Sprite. In recent years, he provided voice over for ads for the Nike SB Zoom, as well as Hennessy and Andis grooming products.

Recently, The Nasty One has been getting his anthropologist on. In July, Nas along with Warner Music Group and a private equity fund operated by four famous DJs help are among the new backers named for cloud-based mastering company Landr Audio. According to Billboard, along with prior investors YUL Ventures, Real Ventures and Cirque Du Soleil founders Guy Laliberté and Daniel Gauthier, they’ve helped the startup raise $6.2 million.

In August, it was announced the Queens rapper had teamed up with New York City’s General Assembly to provide a scholarships for African American and Latino students in the tech field. Escobar, a man of the people.
