Iggy Azalea needed a win. The embattled Australian rapper has seen nothing but roadblocks since this time last year. Her debut album, The New Classic, and its inescapable hit single "Fancy" were nominated for a bevy of year-end awards, and all seemed right in her world. But the end of 2014 and most of this year have come entirely unspooled: her first headlining arena tour was delayed, then canceled amid rumors of poor ticket sales; she was forced to scrap six months' worth of work on her sophomore album; she remains dogged by accusations of cultural appropriation; her collaboration with Britney Spears fizzled, then sparked a minor feud; and as soon as she was engaged to her now-fiance, Los Angeles Lakers guard Nick Young, the couple was hit with rumors of his cheating. So the very least the universe could give her is a big, block-lettered W on Spike's Lip Sync Battle.

The show, born out of a segment on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, pits celebrities against one another in a crowd- and host-judged battle of lip syncing performances. (LL Cool J and Chrissy Teigen host; John Krasinski, who starred as Jim Halpert on The Office, is an executive producer.) It kicked off in April with showdowns between Jimmy Fallon and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and Common and Teigen's husband John Legend. Iggy went against Young, and won with her renditions of "Teenage Dirtbag" by Wheatus and "Freak Me" by Silk. The ball player fell short with "Sugar" by Maroon 5 and "Here I Go Again" by Whitesnake.
