Today, Aug. 26, is the birthday of Mississippi rapper Big K.R.I.T.

Krizzle got an early start in the rap game, dropping mixtapes and making appearance on other rappers' projects at the age of 19. Though he was already producing for big names like Wiz Khalifa and Curren$y, his 2010 mixtape K.R.I.T. Wuz Here caught the attention of the internet and music execs and Krizzle was signed to Def Jam Records that same year.

K.R.I.T was chosen to be in the class of 2011 XXL Freshmen alongside Kendrick Lamar, Mac Miller, Lil B, Meek Mill and more. Based on that exposed and major label backing, this "King Remembered in Time" dropped his debut album, Live from the Underground in 2012 followed by his most recent release, the futuristic Cadillactica in 2014.

Since dropping Cadillactica, K.R.I.T has collaborated with like-minded conscious acts like Bilal, David Banner and Joey Bada$$. For the remainder of 2015, fans can catch K.R.I.T on a headlining tour of his own, the 38-city "Kritically Acclaimed" Tour with support from special guests.
