Dr. Dre's new album, Compton, debuts at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. The No. 1 spot went to country singer Luke Bryan’s Kill The Lights. The legendary producer has a lot to celebrate about. He is one of the executive producers for the N.W.A biopic, Straight Outta Compton, which brought in $56 million in its opening weekend in North America.

Compton, released via Interscope Records, is Dre's third studio album and the first we've heard of him in the last 16 years. The album dropped last week (Aug. 7) and is available to stream via Apple Music, as well as for purchase via iTunes. The New York Times reports Compton had a great week, amassing 25 million streams and half a million downloads. Compton also debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. We spoke to the collaborators on Compton about the LP and their experience working with Dr. Dre. Twitter was surely excited about when Dre's new album dropped and Straight Outta Compton clearly benefitted from the new LP. On Beats 1 radio show, The Pharmacy, this weekend, Dre spoke about the biopic and meeting Corey Hawkins (the actor who played him in the film).

"I gotta be honest, it freaked me out when I met him," he said. "We had a conversation. We went out to dinner at this restaurant over in Hollywood. We sat across the table and he started talking to me and I heard him like, 'What the... is that?' I'm saying this shit internally. It kinda freaked me out. At the same time, it's one of the things that let me know he was the perfect guy for the job."
