DJ Mustard hopped on Twitter last night (Aug. 18) to voice his opinion about Iggy Azalea's smash hit "Fancy" and newcomer Jidenna's new banger "Classic Man." The West Coast producer, who's been producing club bangers that sat atop the charts for the past few summers with his signature West Coast production, said both "Fancy" and "Classic Man" were "ripoffs" of his sound. He since deleted his tweets but we were able to get the screenshots. View them below:

Last month while Iggy was answering question on Twitter, the former XXL Freshman revealed that she's making money from Jidenna's "Classic Man" because it samples "Fancy." Reports then confirmed that all six "Fancy" writers—including Amethyst "Iggy" Kelly and Charlotte "Charli" Aitchison—are listed, as well as four of its five producers on the "Classic Man" official credits. So Iggy is getting a percentage of the song’s profits.

While Janelle Monae and Jidenna were on Hot 97’s Ebro in The Morning last week, the Wondaland artists addressed why Iggy is getting a cut of the profits. They said that "Fancy" is not sampled but they did give the female MC credit to be safe. “Ever since the decision of Robin Thicke and Pharrell, we believe that it was important to make sure that we are safe,” Jidenna said. “When that Robin Thicke verdict came out, we realized the game had changed in music. I’m glad we were safe.” Janelle Monae also added a clever jab: “She steals from us, we steal back.”

What's the lesson here? Everybody borrows from everybody.
