We'll be seeing more of Andre 3000, just not in the capacity that most rap fans were hoping. The OutKast member will be co-starring in the ABC crime-drama, American Crime. Stacks will play alongside Regina King (227, Friday) as the parents of a teen who is accused of the season's central crime, reports Variety.

“Personally, I couldn’t be more excited than to work again with Andre," said show runner John Ridley, who previously worked with Andre on the Jimi Hnedrix biopic. "He is an amazing individual, a true artist, and [the Hendrix bio] is one of the reasons I was given the reins on American Crime. Folks at ABC were absolutely moved by Andre’s performance in the film, and by the overall language of cinema we used in telling the story. It’s fair to say American Crime might not exist were it not for our previous collaboration.”

This might come as a blow to OutKast and 3K fans who were hoping beyond hope that Benjamin had caught the rap bug and is feverishly focusing on his return to hip-hop.

The OutKast member got his first start in acting in 2003 on the Harrison Ford action/comedy film Hollywood Homicide. He later landed roles in the movies Be Cool (2005), Four Brothers (2005), Idlewild (2006), Semi Pro (2008) and most recently as Jimi Hendrix in the 2013 film, Jimi: All By My Side.

On the small screen, 3 Stacks has previously had parts on The Shield and About A Girl. He also had his own cartoon on the Cartoon Network, Class of 3000 which lasted two seasons.
