50 Cent doesn't care what you think about his bank account. The bulletproof rapper from Queens has drifted from music over the last eight years or so, preferring to stay in the gym or the boardroom. There, the G-Unit boss has racked up a series of endorsements with beverages and headphone brands--not to mention his producing a hit show on Starz and embarking on a burgeoning acting career of his own. (You can catch the rapper, born Curtis Jackson, in the Jake Gyllenhaal-starring Southpaw, in theaters now.) But 50 has been teasing one new record since before he dropped his last album; in fact, the rollout for Street King Immortal has gone on so long that some fans have doubted the album's very existence. But this May, "Get Low" surfaced, with contributions from Jeremih, 2 Chainz and T.I. Now, at a show in New York, 50 has debuted a biting, personal song called "9 Shots." Listen to it in the above video, starting around the four-minute mark.

The song's title, of course, plays off the nine times 50 was shot outside his grandmother's house in 2000. While recovering from the bullet wounds, his deal with Columbia disintegrated and, after a brief stint away from New York City, he returned with a vengeance, taking the city's mixtape scene by storm. Shortly after that, he caught the attention of Dr. Dre and Eminem, who signed him to their Aftermath and Shady imprints, respectively. 50's debut, Get Rich Or Die Trying, was one of the best-selling records the decade it was released.
