Jay Rock is hard at work on his upcoming LP, the long-overdue follow up to 2011's Follow Me Home, which should be the next release from the Top Dawg Entertainment camp. Recently, label founder Anthony ‘Top Dawg’ Tiffith revealed some of the latest fruits of Rock's labor via a short video clip where the Watts MC is showing off his product to labelmate Kendrick Lamar. In the clip, Rock privileges K. Dot to a sinister pounding track over which the TDE vet is spitting supercharged bars. He sounds hungry. At one point, Lamar is moved to the point of dancing, breaking a slight two step. TIffith captioned the video, "@jayrock shit sounding Krazy... He press play on @kendricklamar in the studio last nite... Let's go champ! #TDE."

Back in March, Tiffith assured fans that Jay Rock was next up, following the release of Kendrick Lamar's new album. Posting a screen grab of a laptop containing the tracks to the Watts’ rappers LP, Top Dawg typed, “TRUST ME @JAYROCK IS COMING…HES WORKING HIS ASS OFF 2 GIVE YALL HIS BEST…BE PATIENT #TDE.” He later added, “theres your jay rock updated…[sic]."

Since then, JR has dropped a couple of new singles in "Money Trees Deuce" late last month and "Gumbo." a couple weeks back.

It will be a hard act to follow, coming after Lamar's critically acclaimed To Pimp A Butterfly. So, far it looks like the label and Kendrick are feeling the work in progress.
