Last Friday (July 10), the small New Jersey borough of Paramus suffered a strange bit of crime. A police report says that a ShopRite cashier was attacked by a group of three men after a brief altercation between the cashier and a woman who was friends with the assailants. It's believed that the woman took offense to something the 19-year-old cashier said and slapped him; at that point, the three men jumped in and began grappling with the employee. The victim's name was not revealed, and while he declined to press charges on Friday, he is able to do so at a later date. Police describe the visible injuries as "minor swelling" on the cashier's face.

But that's not the interesting part. According to North Jersey.com, the employee believes one of the assailants was Fetty Wap. The "Trap Queen" star has not publicly commented on the matter, but his recent run of huge singles and distinctive appearance make it seem unlikely that he would be mistaken in his home state. Police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg says that authorities are still looking to identify, track down and hear statements from the members of the attacking group, in the event that the cashier later chooses to press charges. It's unclear whether ShopRite closed-circuit security cameras captured the incident, or if any bystanders got it on video.

On the other hand, the current news cycle might have Fetty finding love. The 2015 XXL Freshman, who was just in Los Angeles for the West coast Freshmen show, has been spotted out and about (and on Instagram) with Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood star Masika Kalysha. Check out the clips for yourself:
