Yesterday (July 22), it was widely reported that Eminem would replace the late Eazy-E on an upcoming N.W.A. world tour. The swing would serve, in part, as promotion for Straight Outta Compton, the upcoming biopic about the legendary rap group. Unfortunately for fans, it looks like that won't be happening. In a short statement issued to Rolling Stone, a representative for both Eminem and Dr. Dre said "that despite reports to the contrary, the pair have no plans to tour together either solo or with N.W.A." The news comes less than two weeks after it was announced that Dre would helm Compton's soundtrack, and that he had already secured contributions from both Em and fellow Compton product Kendrick Lamar.

It was on the set of the controversial, highly-anticipated movie that the chain of events that would ultimately lead to Suge Knight's murder and attempted murder charges began. The dispute was picked up later at a Compton burger stand, where Knight ultimately hit Cle "Bone" Sloane and Terry Carter with his truck. Carter died from his injuries, while Sloane has gone on to become one of Los Angeles County's least cooperative witnesses. The legal proceedings have turned into something of a spectacle, where exorbitant bails and recanted testimony have run concurrently with a series of medical mishaps, which have ranged from courtroom fainting to diabetes treatment to possible brain tumorsStraight Outta Compton hits theaters August 14.
