The 17th Pan Am Games are currently underway in Toronto, and while the event features some of the world's best athletes at the height of competition, the organizers have a trick up their sleeve that might overshadow everything on the field of play. According to the CBC, Kanye West will perform at the Games' July 26 closing ceremonies, alongside Pitbull and Serena Ryder, both of whom had already been announced. The ceremony will come on the heels of West's July 10 performance at Ottawa's Bluesfest and, as the Canadian broadcasting giant points out, is only a few days before this year's OVO Fest, slated for August 1-3.

Earlier this year, West dropped a trio of singles: "Only One," "FourFiveSeconds" and "All Day." All three feature Paul McCartney in some capacity; "FourFiveSeconds" includes Rihanna, while "All Day" makes use of longtime collaborator Theophilus London and St. Paul upstart Allan Kingdom. Though these songs, along with the Vic Mensa- and Sia-featuring "Wolves," initially seemed to point to an album being imminent, the Chicago superstar has been mostly quiet over the last few weeks. He and his wife, Kim Kardashian, are expecting their second child, a boy, later this year. His most recent solo record was 2013's divisive Yeezus, a cold, industrial LP that borrowed from Chicago house and drill and left little breathing room. The Pan Am Games fall under the governance of the International Olympic Committee and are comprised of nations in North, South and Central America. The most recent North American edition of the Games took place in Winnipeg, in 1999. They have twice been held in America, in Chicago in 1959 and in Indianapolis in 1987.
