Abdel-Majed Abdel Bary, also known as rapper Lyricist Jinn and L Jinny, is being hunted by security services after fleeing to Syria. Bary, 25, is believed to be hiding among thousands of other refugees in the border zone in Turkey, Daily Mail reports.

Bary, who also calls himself "soldier of Allah,"was one of the first British jihadists to join the Islamic State. He achieved notoriety across the Internet after sharing chilling posts and photos of him posing with the severed head American journalist James Foley. The former rapper also issued threats against the West.

However, just last week Bary publicly stated that he has fallen out with ISIS and claimed that he was no longer fighting for its cause. Bary is believed to be among 50 British fighters hiding in Turkey. If they return to Syria, they face prosecution and jail for terrorist offenses. While Bary was a member of ISIS he joked with former friends on Twitter about how he missed music while living among militant Islamists.

Before becoming a jihadist fighter, Bary was an aspiring rapper and his music played on BBC radio stations. Those close to him say his frustration with the British government over the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan grew over the years, which led him to join the radical group. Bary's father, Adel Abdel Bary senior, was a key lieutenant of Osama bin Laden. He was extradited to the United States from Britain in 2012  and later pleaded guilty to working for al-Qaeda and Egyptian Islamic Jihad. Bary Sr. is currently serving 25 years in prison for conspiring to kill Americans in the 1998 embassy bombings in Africa, which left 224 people dead.
