Diddy won't face felony charges for his altercation with an UCLA coach last month. Ricardo Santiago, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, said that prosecutors declined to charge Combs with felony assault and battery. Instead Santiago said the D.A. office referred the case to the L.A.'s city attorney's office for misdemeanor filing consideration.

"We are thankful that the district attorney rejected felony charges in this matter," said Mark Geragos, Combs' attorney. "This case never should have been part of the criminal justice system to begin with."

Combs was arrested following an altercation with Bruins strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi. He was accused of assaulting Alosi and charged with battery, assault with a deadly weapon and making terrorist threats. The altercation was sparked because Puffy felt Alosi was picking on Diddy’s son, Justin Combs, during practice, eventually telling him to sit out the drill for lack of effort. Diddy didn’t take too kindly to this, and later confronted Alosi in his office, which is wear the incident happened

A representative for Combs stated that the incident was "wholly inaccurate" in her statement.

"Any actions taken by Mr. Combs were solely defensive in nature to protect himself and his son," the representative said in a statement made last month. "We are confident that once the true facts are revealed, the case will be dismissed."

More details have come about the incident itself. Apparently, Sal Alosi—the same coach who resigned from the New York Jets after he tripped a Miami Dolphins player during a punt return–had been bulling Justin "for nearly three years,” and a source described the coach’s behavior as “over the top” and apart of Alosi’s campaign of psychological warfare.
