Here's the thing. Lil Wayne is dropping his new project, Free Weezy Album, on the same day. Wayne made the announcement last week and said, “I got a new album coming out, it’s called FWA. It’s coming out Fourth of July, make some noise!” This feud has been going on for a while now and we've documented the incidents. You can read that here.

Wayne's beef was initially with Cash Money Records but Birdman's new golden child has been on Weezy's radar ever since Thugger tried to name his last project "Carter 6." Thug has previously said that he was only trying to honor the Wayne and that Weezy is his idol. However, Tunechi isn't having it.

The last incident between them happened when it was reported in May that the April shooting of Lil Wayne’s tour bus has ties to Young Thug. The suspect in custody, Jimmy Carlton Winfrey, was looking to elevate his status as a Blood by, “committing a high profile shooting of a rival rap artist.” Sources said that Winfrey has acted as Thugger’s road manager. Winfrey was arrested on May 21 and has been charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, possession of a firearm by a felon and criminal gang activity. He has previously been arrested for drug possession in Florida.

UPDATE: In a series of tweets last night, Young Thug updated his followers with new details on his Slime Season mixtape. Originally scheduled for a Fourth of July release, Thugga Thugga has decided to push back the project and instead release a new track from Slime Season titled "Again." According to Young Thug's Twitter, the new joint produced by London On Da Track will drop at 5:55 today.
