Wiz Khalifa would never go so far as to divorce himself from marijuana, but for now, it won't be landing him in jail. According to TMZ, the Atlantic rapper has agreed to pay roughly $500 in fines and will avoid serving any more time in the case that briefly landed him in a Texas jail. Last May, Wiz was caught with weed at the airport in El Paso, and taken to a nearby jail. From his cell, he posted a series of Instagram pictures, which launched an internal investigation with local law enforcement. Immediately after that arrest, Khalifa dropped a mixtape, 28 Grams. Paying the current fines will close the case for good.

While he has yet to drop a new LP, Wiz is having himself a banner year. His contribution to the Furious 7 soundtrack, "See You Again" (which is used in the film as a tribute to the late Paul Walker, a star in the franchise), has been at #1 on the Billboard charts for eight weeks. That song, a collaboration with singer Charlie Puth, is the Pittsburgh rapper's second chart topper of his career, after 2010's "Back and Yellow"; his other top tens are "No Sleep" and "Young, Wild & Free." Late last month, he took to Twitter to announce Rolling Papers 2: The Weed Album, a sequel to his 2011 major label debut. Details are scant at press time, but the title of the nascent record suggests that Khalifa isn't making any major changes to his personal brand.
