Lil Durk Celebrates Debut Album at Irving Plaza in NYC

Antsy, yet eager fans gathered around 10:30 p.m. in Irving Place in New York City between 15th and 16th streets to witness Chicago native Lil Durk celebrate the release of his highly anticipated debut album Remember My Name. However, little did fans know, there would be mass hysteria while waiting to enter Irving Plaza. After irate non-ticket holding fans attempted to let themselves in via a side door, large men in NYPD jackets and nearly every member of Irving Plaza security dropped what they were doing to stop these sneaky fans in there tracks.

Fast-forward to midnight and Durk-lovers of the NYC and tri-state area began to fill the house. VIP was full of excited fans, as well as patient journalists and photographers. Some time after the crowd filled the sold out venue, Durk walked through VIP on the upper level to enter the stage of what would be an hour-long party of Durk's hit record in the city that never sleeps. Wearing an all white outfit, with an iced out gold OTF chain, gold Jeremy Scott sneakers and his entourage in tow, the Chi-town MC hit the stage to perform a medley of bangers. And despite minor DJ technical difficulties, and “kill the DJ!” chants, that didn't stop fans from assisting Durk and turning up to what seemed to be one of the crowd’s favorite records, “Dis Ain’t What U Want.” The rapper then went into a series of hits, including "L's Anthem," "52 Bars Part 2," "Who Is This," "Gas and Mud" and "Bang Bros"—to name a few. Durk even performed some tracks off the new album such as, "What Your Life Like," "Tryna' Tryna'," "Higher," "Amber Alert" and his new single "Like Me" with Jeremih—who made a guest appearance and gave the crowd some a capella snippets of a couple of his own hits.
