Earlier this year, Kanye West poked fun at time's flat circle. When Beck was announced as the winner of Album of the Year at the Grammys for his acclaimed Morning Phase, West hopped on stage, pretending to upstage the winner in the same way he did Taylor Swift at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. (Both times, the Chicago superstar was arguing on Beyonce's behalf: in 2009 for her stark, stunning "Single Ladies" video, and at the Grammys for her self-titled solo album, released out of the blue at the end of 2013.) While West's joke seemed lighthearted in the moment--and while Beck took it in stride--his interviews later that night revealed that he was, in fact, angry about the committee's decision, believing it to be an affront to "artistry." But he soon backtracked, admitting that he hadn't heard Morning Phase and, when he finally did, quite enjoying it. Kanye apologized to Beck on radio and via his Twitter account. That apology campaign seems to be continuing, with West telling Britain's The Sunday Times that he was "inaccurate with the concept of a gentleman who plays 14 instruments not respecting artistry," presumably in reference to Beck's renowned musicianship.

That's not all Kanye's up to. The Yeezus star put his design skills to work, teaming up with his creative firm DONDA to design a new book cover. People reports that West and DONDA designed the final version of a book called Sandcastle Kings: Meeting Jesus in a Spiritually Bankrupt World, by Rich Wilkerson, Jr., West's pastor and the man who performed his wedding to Kim Kardashian.
