Joe Budden Will Be On VH1’s ‘Couples Therapy’

When your reality television show has been around for five seasons, you need to brainstorm ways to keep it fresh. You can bring in new hosts, take the production to a new locale, throw a wrench in the lives of the participants. Or you can call Joe Budden. The New Jersey rapper will appear on the forthcoming sixth season of VH1's Couples Therapy alongside his girlfriend Kaylin Garcia. Other couples seeking the help of Dr. Jenn Mann are Angela “Big Ang” Murphy and Neil Murphy, Scott Stapp and Jaclyn Stapp, Carmen Carrera and Adrian Torres and Janice Dickinson and Robert “Rocky” Gerner.

Though he has become, of late, a star on Twitter, Instagram and various other celebrity gossip channels, Joe Budden rose to fame in 2003 off the strength of his self-titled debut album and its Just Blaze-produced lead single, "Pump It Up." However, the album's subsequent singles failed to catch on at radio, and Budden fell out of favor with his label, Def Jam, and retreated to the mixtape circuit from whence he came. The Mood Muzik series made him a critical darling and earned him a cult following; he came out the other end of the 2000s with a major label deal for Slaughterhouse, the group he formed with Crooked I, Joell Ortiz and Royce da 5'9".
