Jada Pinkett Smith was on Howard Stern's show on Sirius XM and opened up about her friendship with Tupac. The two were high school classmates that remained close and were often photographed together as they grew in fame. During her recent appearance, the 43-year old actress said that although the friendship between her and 'Pac was platonic, they did try to take things to the next level with a kiss once, which was a bad idea.

"Now being older, I have more of an understanding of what that was between us," said the Gotham star to Stern. "When you have two young people that have very strong feelings, but there was no physical chemistry between us at all, and it wasn’t even just for me! It was him too. There was a time when I was like, ‘Just kiss me! Let’s just see how this goes.’ And when I tell you it had to be the most disgusting kiss for us both. The only way I can put it is just the higher power just did not want that. If Pac and I had any kind of sexual chemistry, we might have killed each other cause we were both so passionate and we loved deeply. It was hard enough just with us being friends. We had a very volatile relationship."

Tupac Shakur wrote a poem titled "Jada," detailing his appreciation for the Hawthorne actress. It was later featured in his 1999 posthumous book, “The Rose That Grew from Concrete.” Jada tells Howard that she was captivated by Tupac's poetry and personality and had never met anyone like him before. It was this uniqueness that drew her to him and kept their friendship intact until 2Pac's passing in 1996. Listen to the short clip below.
