Word out of Summer Jam is 2015 XXL Freshman DeJ Loaf is dropping an EP later this month. Detroit's la femme petite performed on the festival stage earlier, reportedly diving into the crowd during her set, making for a lively introduction to the Summer Jam scene. Following her time on stage, the "Try Me" rapper revealed the upcoming project to Hot 97's Peter Rosenburg during an exit interview, reports DDotOmen. No specific release date was revealed, but the MC affirmed she would be putting out an official project before July hits.

While the EP will keep hungry fans at bay, Loaf continues to work on her debut LP which will be her official introduction. Back in March, she stopped by XXL headquarters and gave us the run down of her musical grind. "[I'm], just making music, [the material] could be for anything," she said. "You never know, it could be for the album, a mixtape or a movie. I just make music, I don’t really say,'Oh yeah, this is for the album.' I’ve been in the studio with Guordan Banks, not sure if you’re familiar with him. He’s a singer from Philly, one of my favorites. He’s somebody who I did want on the album. Me and Meek also did a couple of songs. I did something for his album. It’s going to be nice, we’re just getting locked in for the album. We’re working on music, there’s more time to make music. We’ll also be doing a lot of features and stuff. You’ll see."

Check back for more updates on the forthcoming project.
