Big Sean’s Ex Naya Rivera Is Writing a Tell-All Book

One of the advantages rapper have over other songwriters boils down to word count. Hip-hop affords creative people the ability to create and control narratives in a unique way--look at Big Sean, who parlayed what we can only assume was a painful breakup into the biggest hit of his career. But sometimes, the other party wants their voice to be heard, too. Sean's ex-fiance, Naya Rivera, the actress to whom he was engaged from late 2013 through the spring of 2014, is writing a tell-all memoir, and one can only assume that the Detroit rapper will be dissected in detail. Rivera's book is titled Sorry Not Sorry and is expected out in the spring of 2016. Publishers Weekly reports that the book will feature “candid thoughts on topics ranging from dating... to the challenges of being mixed-race in Hollywood.”

Though the timeline of the song's recording remains murky, Rivera has long been presumed the target of "IDFWU," Sean's massive hit from last year. Featured on his Dark Sky Paradise, the track boasts a beat co-produced by DJ Mustard and Kanye West and a verse from Bay Area legend E-40. Before the song landed in the GOOD Music star's lap, it was intended for Justin Bieber, who posted a snippet of his version of the song on Instagram months before the final was released.
