I recent years, the Bay Area has been mined for innovative sounds more than it has been seen as a breeding ground for rap stars. But Oakland and San Francisco's vibrant rap scenes--not to mention Berkeley--have provided more than their fair share of forward thinking rap stars. Just ask Mistah F.A.B. The North Oakland legend and hyphy pioneer has just dropped his latest mixtape, STFK. Proclaiming he's Still the Fucking King, Fab turns in a 26-track effort designed to rattle the speakers at house parties all summer (and, presumably, in the car as you ghostride to and from the soiree).

Mistah F.A.B. first rose to prominence as a battle rapper; in 2003 he released his first studio album, Nig-Latin. The following year, he signed to Mac Dre's Thizz Entertainment, earning widespread recognition with his sophomore effort, Son of a Pimp. His most recent official LP was 2012's Da Yellow Bus Rydah. He grabbed headlines last year for his involvement in an altercation with DJ Mustard's crew, allegedly over F.A.B. and other Bay rappers' belief that the Los Angeles producer was stealing styles without properly crediting the originators. More recently, he gave XXL a tour of Oakland.
