The relationship between the UK's Glastonbury Festival and Hip-Hop continues to be contentious. Shortly after Kanye West was announced as the headliner for the 2015 edition of the festival, a petition began to circulate to keep 'Ye from headlining in favor of a traditional rock band and has been signed by over 133,000 people to date. As the festival date nears closer, the situation is becoming heated and the concert organizers are coming forward to reveal that they have had their lives threatened over the booking of Kanye. Emily Eavis, who, along with her father Michael handle the booking, spoke to The Evening Standard about the threats. "It was not a pleasant world we unwrapped," said Emily Eavis. "I had death threats and stuff. It was horrible. It was just crazy...The scrutiny is daily. Whatever we do is torn apart and analysed [sic]. It's hard to concentrate on the job because you can get easily distracted by the hoo-ha."

Despite the scary situation, Eavis stands by the booking decision saying, "Kanye West is an amazing force as a performer. For us, getting the biggest star in the world was an amazing coup."

The Glastonbury Festival is scheduled for June 24-28.
