Troy Ave's indie hustle and grind has taken him from an unknown Brooklyn MC to the cover of the 2014 XXL Freshmen issue and the mainsatge at Hot 97's yearly Summer Jam concert. With less than a month to go before the release of his Major Without A Deal album, Ave unveils the cover art for the project. The simple-yet-effective image features Ave posted up on a Benz rocking a gold chain and gold watch. The art immediately reminds us of the cover art of classic albums and mixtapes like Jay Z's Vol 2...Hard Knock Life, Lil Wayne's Tha Carter II and G-Unit's 50 Cent Is The Future. Will it have the same impact or quality as the aforementioned albums? See for yourself on June 5.

Troy Ave displayed his crossover appeal with last summer’s “Your Style” and, more recently, the radio-friendly “Doo Doo” and took it back to the streets with his most recent leak, “Real N$gga.” With the remix to "All About The Money" with Rick Ross and "June 5th" also floating around out there, those who have been paying attention to Ave's output have a good sense of what his full project is going to sound like. The Brooklyn MC has shown his versatility over the past year but it's time to see if his songs will add up to a cohesive project with replay value.
